Ironhorse Country Club Update
With summer fast approaching, we want to share our excitement about the upcoming improvements at Ironhorse Country Club. All of the enhancements to our Club reflect the deep commitment of our ownership, management and staff to create a top quality, intimate and friendly Country Club experience at Ironhorse.
The centerpiece of our Country Club, our golf course, is being transformed! Hills & Forrest, the international golf course architects and the original designers of Ironhorse, have helped us plan for the restoration and modernization of their original Ironhorse design. When the course re-opens, we're confident that all levels of golfers will find play more enjoyable than ever.
We are installing brand new fairways and tee boxes, all grassed with Celebration Bermuda that will provide the course with durability for years to come as well as exceptional recovery, lushness, drought resistance, and beautiful deep green colors.
When the renovations are complete, you'll find that all bunkers throughout the course have been refreshed with new sand to provide improved consistency of play.
We are also continuing our ongoing "naturalization" program with new plant beds around the course with native plants and grasses. Our program not only preserves water but also creates new and improved habitats for our diverse wildlife population.
During our re-construction, paving contractors will be going around the course to smooth out the bumpy spots on our cart path system. In addition, the new season will see totally new cart paths from our Pro Shop to the first and tenth tee boxes.
While the new fairways are growing, our maintenance crew will be focused on the required maintenance practices to keep our greens in top shape and improving the conditions of the rough, concentrating on repairs and improvements.
There are significant changes also coming to our Clubhouse which will be spelled out in an update that you will receive later this summer. It will also outline exciting new programs for our fitness, tennis and pool facilities.
