The Hobo
I grew up just south of Waldo, Ohio, in a small village of Norton (population 25). On the weekends, my parents would take us to either G&R Tavern or the local Dairy Freeze.
The tavern was my most favorite place to go, The atmosphere with all the neon signs and historical pictures of the small town was so cool to me. The menu was the same then as it is today, just good and simple fare.
The fried bologna sandwich is famous. Most travelers laugh at the offering until the locals insist that they order it. This sandwich put G&R Tavern on the map. They have been featured on Travel TV, food channel and man vs food. So, if you ever get to Waldo, stop in and try it. Or come to the Club and get almost the same sandwich (the recipe is a guarded secret) for lunch.
